MOCC offices are located in Springfield, MO. However, we regularly travel throughout the state to provide services and resources to our members. Here are some examples of in-person services that you can provide your campus. Contact us to plan a visit to your campus.
The Missouri Campus Compact Executive Director meets with the president or chancellor, community service contact, and any other appropriate constituencies of each member campus to share updates and learn about new initiatives, priorities, and challenges. Campus visits are a venue for the ED to learn more about members in order to tailor programs and services to particular needs.
Workshops and Trainings
MOCC staff are available to lead content focused, professional development workshops/trainings on your campus. Examples include service-learning trainings for faculty, topic focused workshops (e.g. assessment, strategic planning, reflection), student-centered trainings on social changes and engagement basics.
This workshop brings your campus together with community agencies in the local area to discuss opportunities for engagement. The workshop is facilitated by MOCC staff and includes professional development for community agencies on topics related to working with higher education institutions and provides time to each agency to connect with the local institution. This workshop can be provided on a regional basis for multiple institutions.
Staff members are available to speak at events, facilitate discussions and retreats, and serve on search committees. Assistance can also entail working with your campus to develop a civic action plan for community engagement.
Resources and Best Practices
Sorting through the vast field of community engagement can often seem overwhelming when trying to locate a particular recommendation, best practice, or piece of research. We often receive calls and emails asking if we can send reflection resources, examples of online service-learning, basic principles of engagement, and many other topics. We can help you wade through the available resources to find what you are looking for. Simply send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what you need to find.
